In industrial plants, commercial buildings and even home electricity scenarios, a thumb-sized device can cut off fault current in a thousandth of a second, avoiding fire and equipment damage - it is the Molded Case Circuit Breaker (MCCB), It is an indispensable core protection in the low-voltage distribution system, and its role is equivalent to the "fuse" in the circuit system, which can not only automatically cut off the faulty power supply, but also restore the power supply after lifting the anomaly, which is the first line of defense to ensure the safety of electricity and extend the life of the equipment!

So what are the basic functions of Molded Case Circuit Breaker (MCCB)?

1. Overload protection

When the line current exceeds the rated value due to equipment overload operation (such as motor start-up, multiple devices in parallel), but does not reach the short circuit current, the bimetal sheet in the circuit breaker will trigger the trip due to heat bending, and cut off the circuit in a few seconds to avoid continuous overheating of the line and cause fire.

2. Short circuit protection

If the line is suddenly short-circuited due to insulation damage, equipment failure, etc. (the current surges to thousands of amps in an instant), the electromagnetic coil of the circuit breaker will generate a strong magnetic field, which will push the mechanical mechanism to complete the breaking within 0.02 seconds to prevent the arc from burning the equipment or causing an electrical explosion.

Different from disposable fuses, mould-case circuit breakers can be flexibly opened and closed through the handle, which is convenient for physical isolation of power supply during line maintenance. At the same time, remote electric operation (optional module) is supported to meet the requirements of intelligent power distribution.

From the above functions, we can conclude that MCB is a "safety net" covering the whole field, so plastishell circuit breakers are frequently used in the industrial field, buildings and new energy and new infrastructure, in the scenario of high energy consumption, plastishell circuit breakers need to withstand the impulse current of the motor frequent start and stop, to protect the inverter, PLC and other precision equipment from voltage fluctuations.
